Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia said Sunday it would deploy 5,000 supporters to stage a rally against the visit of US President Barrack Obama to Indonesia later this month.

The protest will be held in front of the U.S. consulate general on Jl. Dokter Soetomo, Surabaya.

East Java HTI chairman Khoiri Sulaiman said his organization hoped that the government would not to accept Obama visit.

"This protest is the best thing we can do to voice our demand. We will deploy more supporters if our demand is rejected," he said as quoted by kompas.com.

Obama will visit Indonesia from March 20 to March 22.
